Join us in a journey to West Africa at Dance International, where we will explore the rhythms and dances of West African Dance dating back hundreds of years from Guinea and Mali.
West African Dances
Such dances are: Kassa (harvest) from the Malinke people, Sunu (courtship) from the Bamana and Wolosa people of Mali, Sofa (hunter) from the Malinke people, Sorsonet (rite of passage)from the Baga people, and Yankadi (celebration) from the Susu people. Every Saturday at Dance International in this hour long class (10am – 11am) we will dance to both traditional rhythms and contemporary beats. Join us for classes in African Dancing, make new friends, and have fun! We have a beautiful wooden floor, plenty of space to dance, safe, free parking.
